Long nights are the best, staying up late even though you have work the next day - or more like in 2 hours. Crashing on the couch while napping on their shoulder. The warmth of their skin while they keep the cold out.
It is during these times. When the wind is whirling around you so hard and fast that any moment you might fly off the ground with the dirt that it suddenly hits you. Where is your shoulder? Where is the warmth that keeps away the loneliness and cold? Rather than moments imprinted into your mind of the people in your mind - you have a computer screen streaming their smile from millions of miles away. Their skin presses against cool glass that doesn't transfer their warmth to you. The arms that could hold you encased in metal and plastic. It is at these times that you hate travel - that they aren't by your side - that everyone else seems to have this warmth except you. And you look to others like you. Try to cover up the want to reach through the glass and plastic to the one who can hold you tight, accepting the light touches and emotions that you can barely take from others.
The only thing that can replicate the intense heat from what you left behind is a bowl of chili - and even then it might not be enough.
Where are you?

I'm tough, I'm ambitious, and I know exactly what I want. If that makes me a bitch, okay.
